Under the Oak

Previous / Next

This is the second photograph from Ninette and Nils`wedding. I wish I had moved in closer, but my intention was to use the oak as a frame. Sadly, the branches over their heads "burnt out"...
But I like it anyhow!

I heard about William Egglestons film "In the real world". Can`t wait to see it! I don`t expect it to be a blockbuster at my local theater, but perhaps it`s possible to buy the DVD in a year or two?

Again I think the B&W and high contrast setting have payed off, as it isolates them very well and produces this effect of glow from a light beam coming from the sky. In a similar setting I would have probably used color, and soft focus to give a dreamy "fairy" effect to the scene. But your choice played well... so nothing to complain. About the burned top... true, maybe a little less would have been better, but you need some opening on the sky, otherwise they would have been "floating" too much in the darkness.
I love this, the contrast creates such a beautiful fairy tale like scen which is wondeful here and the light dappled warmth is wonderful.

I am so looking forward to seeing 'in the real world', sigh ...
